New and seasoned Japanese visual culture fans are invited to join our club! Each month we’ll try out a new series by reading the first volume of the manga before meeting to discuss it and watch the first episode of the corresponding anime. Stick around afterward for a related activity, which could be anything from a craft to a competition! (Sept. 17) For September’s club meeting, we’re covering Pokémon Adventures by Hidenori Kusaka. “Red doesn't just want to train Pokémon, he wants to be their friend too. Bulbasaur and Poliwhirl seem game. But independent Pikachu won't be so easy to win over! And watch out for Team Rocket, Red . . . They only want to be your enemy (Goodreads)!” Afterwards, we’ll learn to play the card game and have a mini tournament! Copies of October’s title, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun by AidaIro, will be available for pickup.
