New and seasoned Japanese visual culture fans are invited to join our club! Each month we’ll try out a new series by reading the first volume of the manga before meeting to discuss it and watch the first episode of the corresponding anime (titles subject to change). Stick around afterward for a related activity, which could be anything from a craft to a competition! For July’s club meeting, we’ll be covering My Adventures with Superman by Tomo Josie Campbell and Pablo M. Collar. “A strange encounter with one of Professor Ivo’s robotic creations leads Superman into a stranger struggle with spy agency Checkmate, mercenary Slade Wilson, and even the government of the United States! What does the artificial intelligence known as Amazo want from Superman, and is it friend or foe?
