New and seasoned Japanese visual culture fans are invited to join our club! Each month we’ll try out a new series by reading the first volume of the manga before meeting to discuss it and watch the first episode of the corresponding anime. For May’s meeting, we’re keeping it low-key with popcorn and a movie. “Warrior and pacifist Princess Nausicaä desperately struggles to prevent two warring nations from destroying themselves and their dying planet (IMDb).” Copies of June’s title will be available for pickup.
