Teen Manga & Anime Club | "Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits" & Homemade Chocolates

Teen Manga & Anime Club | "Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits" & Homemade Chocolates In-Person

Teens Grades 6-12

Monthly on the 3rd Thursday from 5:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

New and seasoned Japanese visual culture fans are invited to join our club! Each month we’ll try out a new series by reading the first volume of the manga before meeting to discuss it and watch the first episode of the corresponding anime. Stick around afterward for a related activity, which could be anything from a craft to a competition! Use the code @gbmanga in the Remind app or visit remind.com/join/gbmanga to receive updates on meetings and other club-related events.

For February’s club meeting, we’ll be watching and discussing Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits by Midori Yūma. Aoi, a young girl with the ability to see ayakashi, is sent to another realm to repay her grandfather's debt and marry an ogre. The series follows her journey as she proceeds to change and touch the lives of the ayakashi through the one weapon she has against them—her delicious cooking! Afterwards, we’ll prepare our own homemade chocolates. Copies of March’s title, Medalist by Tsurumaikada, will be available for pickup.
