What is Teen Manga & Anime Club?

New and seasoned Japanese visual culture fans are invited to join our club! Each month we’ll try out a new series by reading the first volume of the manga before meeting to discuss it and watch the first episode of the corresponding anime. Stick around afterward for a related activity, which could be anything from a craft to a competition! What are we doing this month?

For November’s club meeting, we’ll be watching and discussing Sweetness & Lightning by Gido Amagakure. Having lost his wife, math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka is doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single father. He's pretty bad at cooking and doesn't have a huge appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for homemade adventures. With those three cooks in the kitchen, it's no wonder this dinner table drama is so delicious. Afterwards, see if you have what it takes to win the Golden Chopsticks in our Ramen Noodle Iron Chef cookoff!

✨NOTE: Please plan to stay for the entire event. As the program runs after-hours, the library is closed, and the doors are locked. If you need to leave for an emergency, you will be escorted out of the building and will not be let back in. Also, make sure you have arrangements for getting home when the event is over!
